Setting a Center Even Amid Uncertainty
Today's teaching speaks about the mindset we need when life does not flow only in the direction we want. Sometimes difficulty comes even when we have done nothing wrong and cannot immediately change the situation by our own strength. At such times, anxiety, doubt, and fear arise together in the mind.
If we only think that reality must be changed according to our wishes, the mind may become even more unsettled. First, we need to acknowledge the present situation and look at what can be learned within it. The attitude of trying to discover wisdom even within difficulty is a positive mind.
A positive mind does not mean vaguely trying to see everything as good. It is the mind that does not hold only the negative side of a problem, but looks for a better direction we can choose. Even when results are not visible right away, faith that our choices and efforts will not be meaningless must be present too.
Faith sets the center of the mind firmly. Even if it takes time and the problem has not yet been resolved, faith lets us move forward little by little without being shaken. Even when we cannot change the whole situation, we can still establish the attitude within our own mind.
Today, in front of uncertain matters, do not rush to a conclusion. Set the center of your mind again. Make the good choice you can make now, and have faith that this choice can gradually change your life. A positive mind and faith open a wise path within difficulty.
Life does not always flow as we wish. Even when we feel anxious and cannot see an answer, we need to acknowledge reality and look for what can be learned and what better choice can be made within it. When we set up a positive mind and faith, the mind becomes steady and can move forward little by little.
