When We Wipe the Mind's Glasses Clear, We See the World Rightly
We see the world differently according to the state of the mind. When the condition of the body and the condition of the mind change, the same scenery feels different, and the same day can seem like an entirely different day.
It is like looking at the world while wearing colored glasses. If we wear dark glasses, even a bright world looks dim. If we wear clouded glasses, even what is beautiful cannot be seen clearly.
The mind is the same. When the mind is anxious and rough, the world also feels anxious. When the mind is peaceful and clear, we can see peace and beauty even within the same world.
Therefore, to see the world rightly, we must first look at the glasses of our own mind. Rather than being pulled along by judgments and emotions that add their own color, we need to practice seeing things as they are with the mind's originally clear eyes.
Today too, wipe the mind clear through practice and meditation. When we cultivate a pure, wise, and compassionate mind, that mind opens a good world and a happy day.
The same world looks different according to the state of the mind. Just as the world appears in the color of the glasses we wear, an anxious mind makes the world feel anxious, and a clear mind sees peace within the world. Today, may we wipe the glasses of the mind through practice and meditation, and look at the day with a pure, wise, and compassionate mind.
