As a Lotus Blooms in Mud, Practice Grows Within Life
The teaching that we can go beyond greed within a world of greed gives deep hope. Just as a lotus does not bloom in empty air but in mud and a pond, liberation too can grow within the difficulties of life.
In the saha world there are many desires, anger, delusion, and obstacles. Yet because we can look into the mind and make effort right there, that very world can also become the condition for practice.
If we see a hard situation only as misfortune, the mind collapses further. But when we see what can be learned there, and what attachment can be released, even hardship becomes a gate of practice.
Today, do not see difficult conditions only with resentment. Like bringing a lotus to bloom right there, seek the path of wisdom and liberation.
