The Seed of Awakening Grows Within Good Conditions
All sentient beings carry the seed of awakening. We originally have a clear nature, and the possibility of becoming a Buddha is already held within the mind. But having a seed does not mean it will bear fruit by itself.
Even a good seed needs soil, water, sunlight, wind, and time before it can sprout and grow. In the same way, the seed of awakening within our mind can finally grow only when there are good conditions, right teaching, and steady practice.
Even if there is a path, we cannot see it in the dark; only when there is a lamp can we find the way. We too have our original nature, but because it is covered by afflictions, habits, and the dust of attachment, we need to hear the teaching, learn the Dharma, and shine light on the mind before we can know the right direction.
Therefore, meeting a good teacher, hearing a good Dharma talk, and finding companions on the path are truly precious blessings. If conditions are not met, a seed may remain only a seed. But when we meet good conditions and practice diligently ourselves, that seed can finally lead to the fruit of awakening.
Today, may we trust the good seed already within us, cherish good teachings, and spend the day growing rightly within precious conditions.
Everyone carries the seed of awakening in the mind. But just as a seed cannot bear fruit by itself, that possibility appears only through good conditions, right teaching, and steady practice. Today, may we listen carefully to good Dharma talks, feel grateful for precious conditions, and live accordingly.
